our collaborative approach target in the following areas:
Candidate Selection
1. Veterans with an honorable, general or medical discharge and who are enrolled in the VA are eligible.
2. Veterans must be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
3. Potential residents also must have 30 days sobriety prior to entering the program.
OUR STAFF
Our experienced staff many of whom are veterans themselves, relate to the plight and special problems of veterans who, for a variety of reasons, find themselves caught in a cycle of chronic homelessness.
Our staff is committed to making the stay of all residents as pleasant and comfortable as possible. We are extremely gratified by the positive contribution we make working within the Veterans Administration integrated network of homeless assistance program, which is the largest in the country.
Personal Issues
Veterans are assisted by counselors on increasing their coping mechanisms, such as stress management to help the individual live in society in a constructive way. Veterans demonstrate improvements in coping with combat- related disorders such as PTSD and TBI, substance, and/ or medical health problems.
